Reader’s Digest began sending me emails with titles like “13 Things Your Pizza Guy Won’t Tell You.” All good ideas begin with ripping off someone else, and it struck me that a blog post or two about “Things Your Pastor Wishes You Knew” might be interesting and helpful.
I asked some pastors what they want their church members, community and visitors to know and promised anonymity for all comments. They shared honestly, I compiled their answers as a simple blog post, and moved on to my next to-do.
Within just a few hours the post had been shared almost 200 times with comments like, “So dead on it’s scary,” and “It feels good to know I’m not alone.” Pastors emailed me with more and left lists in the comments. This wasn’t the first blog post ever written on the subject, but apparently it struck a nerve.
I created this blog so church leaders could continue safely sharing their thoughts and, hopefully, encouraging each other. (Or just passive-aggressively sending a few favorites to their elders. Hey, whatever works…….)
